Book Brill Memorial Hall

Please use the form below to book the main hall. Note that for BMH purposes, “appointment” = booking!

  1. Before you start, please read our revised Terms & Conditions and check the Regular Events page to get an idea of availability.

  2. Choose how long you want to use the hall for (increments of 30 minutes) and click your chosen option. You will be taken to another page.

  3. Click on your preferred date. (If your preferred date isn’t visible, this means it’s too late to book that day; there is a 48 hour time limit on making, rescheduling and cancelling bookings.)

  4. A selection of times will now appear; these are the times on your chosen date that can accommodate a booking of your required duration. (If your preferred time doesn’t appear, this means there isn’t a long enough gap before the next event so choose another time or date or both. Sorry.) Click on your preferred time.

  5. A little drop-down menu will now present you with 3 options. Select either ‘select and continue’ (for a one-off booking) OR ‘select and make recurring’ (for a series of classes).

  6. If you select ‘select and continue’ you will be taken to the Booking Information page. Fill in your name and contact details, and answer all the Booking Information questions - this is a condition of hiring the hall - and click ‘complete appointment’. Give yourself a pat on the back - and jump to Step 10 below.

  7. If you select ‘select and make recurring’, another menu will appear. Choose how often you want your booking to reoccur - but take care; ‘every third Tuesday’ is not the same as ‘every third Tuesday in the month’. Choose how many reoccurrences you would like (maximum is 52) and then click ‘see availability’.

  8. You will now see a list of your bookings. Now is your chance to remove any you don’t want (like school holidays or BHs); just click on the relevant date and follow the prompts. (Don’t worry if you’re not sure when you can take a holiday; you can cancel bookings later - so long as you set up an account, as described below). If any of your series of bookings clashes with a existing booking, it will appear in red as ‘unavailable’. When you’re happy, click ‘add appointments’ (easily missed) and you will be returned to the previous page with all your new bookings nicely listed at the bottom. Click ‘continue’ and you will be taken to the Booking Information page.

  9. Fill in your name and contact details, answer all the Booking Information questions - this is a condition of hiring the hall - and click ‘complete appointment’ to be taken to the final summary page. Well done; you’re nearly finished! Just one final step for all new bookers.

  10. On the booking summary page, you will be given the option to ‘register for an account’. Please do this! It’s very simple to do and it will make things much easier should you wish to view, reschedule or cancel your booking - or make a new booking one fine day. (Warning! Be sure to always use the same email address - unless you want to live a life of total confusion.) Read about Acuity Scheduling accounts.

  11. Check your email in-box for an automated message acknowledging your booking - but note that, although your date and time are reserved, your booking is not confirmed until Kate, the Hall Manager, emails you to finalise payment (bank transfer, please), gives you the keypad access code (if necessary) and confirms licensing and other details.

  12. If you want to book an event spanning midnight, please contact Kate to discuss.

Please email Hannah if you have any problems with the online booking system and she’ll get back to you within 24 hours, often much quicker because she’s geeky and wants to make this thing work for the benefit of everyone involved.
